The 27th edition of Autopromotec, the International garage equipment and automotive aftermarket trade show, that took place in Bologna last May 24 - 28, closed activities with rather encouraging results: 113,616 professional operators were in attendance throughout the five days of the event, 9,627 more compared to the previous edition, which translates into a 9,26% increase. Of these, 90,061 were local Italian professionals while 23,555 were overseas operators, which means an 8,06% increase for local operators and a 14,09% increase for international visitors – thus confirming Autopromotec’s global vision. Furthermore, the event recorded also the presence of 422 specialized journalists, of whom 33,4% came from foreign countries.
Countless moments of training and information were made available to the public, thanks to the extensive calendar of conferences and debates organized under the AutopromotecEDU banner, a debate forum on the most current issues affecting the automotive aftermarket. 93 conferences, most of which were sold out,  were held during the five days of the trade fair along with meetings involving about 2,900 industry professionals. Thanks to a long-standing partnership with ICE (Italian Agency for the Promotion and Internationalization of Italian firms) and Unioncamere Emilia Romagna, Autopromotec 2017 also saw the presence of 120 institutional buyers from over 30 countries.
Every edition is characterized by a "common thread", one that supports car-repair professionals in identifying market trends, enabling them to navigate with greater awareness among the products and services that will soon become indispensable for their business. This year light was shone over the Officina 4.0 (workshop 4.0), an initiative aimed at representing the future of car-repair, illustrated by leading automotive experts as well as a virtual representation of how cars and services will be like in the future. This project, developed in partnership with Accenture, has received considerable interest, every presentation session was in fact “sold out”, for a total of 1,460 entries.
Digital activities were a further proof of the success of the show: the official website of the event recorded 182,609 single viewers and 1,950,542 web page viewings. Particularly lively were activities on the event’s social profiles, with an ever-wider and more active user base that followed in real time the 2017 edition of the show.
Great results indeed, which the organizers will still try to top during the next edition, scheduled from May 22 to 26, 2019, at the Bologna Exhibition Grounds as usual.
