Laser welding and cleaning: power and precision in a single tool
- Welding (with and without
material input)
The
Oxyhtech NovaLaser uses a high-energy laser beam to melt the base material with
high precision.
In filler
welding, a metal wire is added to the melt pool to join parts, especially
useful when there are clearances or reinforcement of the joint is required.
In non-filler welding, the laser directly melts the edges of the parts, ideal for tight joints and high aesthetic quality.
During both
processes, nitrogen is used as a shielding gas, which prevents oxidation of the
weld seam, improves the surface finish and ensures greater mechanical strength
and durability of the joint. This also reduces porosity formation and
eliminates the need for more expensive gases such as argon in many
applications.
- Laser cleaning
Using
high-frequency laser pulses, the NovaLaser removes rust, paint, grease or
surface impurities without affecting the base material. This process
requires no chemicals or consumables, and is environmentally friendly. The beam
only interacts with the contaminants, leaving the surface intact.
