Autopromotec and BolognaFiere have renewed their bilateral agreement until 2033

31/03/2026

Autopromotec, the leading biennial international trade fair for automotive equipment and the aftermarket, and BolognaFiere, one of Europe’s leading trade fair organisers and among the world’s leading exhibition centre operators, confirmed today, 31 March 2026, at the Casa Autopromotec headquarters, the renewal of their contractual agreement for the upcoming editions of the event.

This renewed partnership, which provides for the organisation of the forthcoming editions of Autopromotec until 2033 at the BolognaFiere exhibition centre, consolidates a tradition of collaboration and shared values, objectives and projects, which the two signatory organisations have been building for almost 60 years now.

Founded in Rome in 1965 and organised by Promotec, a service company owned by AIRP (Italian Tyre Retreaders’ Association) and AICA (Italian Association of Automotive Equipment Manufacturers), Autopromotec moved to Bologna in 1967, adopting its biennial format and continuing to grow over the years, as confirmed by the figures for the latest edition in 2025, which saw the participation of 1,692 exhibiting companies (including 61 represented brands) from 46 countries, covering an exhibition area of 165,000 square metres and attracting 97,348 trade visitors.

In this regard,Stefano Carloni, President of AIRP and Promotec, comments: “In 2027 we will celebrate 60 years of trade fairs in Bologna; we are therefore delighted to renew our historic and well-established partnership with BolognaFiere, which has enabled Autopromotec to grow and establish itself as a leading international event”.

Mauro Severi, President of AICA and Vice-President of Promotec, states: “The strength of the automotive sector, which makes it a national industrial leader, lies in the multifaceted nature of the thousands of companies that comprise it, ranging from those producing equipment, spare parts and components to those providing after-sales support. In this context, BolognaFiere becomes the ideal epicentre of an industrial vocation that has always combined tradition and innovation”.

Giampiero Calzolari, President of BolognaFiere, concludes: “The renewal of the agreement with Promotec to hold Autopromotec at BolognaFiere until 2033 consolidates a historic partnership and sets both organisations on a path of international growth and innovation. Autopromotec is a leading event for the global automotive aftermarket supply chain and finds in BolognaFiere an ecosystem capable of fully realising its potential, thanks to advanced infrastructure, integrated services and a strong commitment to internationalisation.”

The 31st edition of the exhibition, scheduled from 26 to 29 May 2027, will be a key forum for exploring the most pressing issues in the automotive sector, with discussions centring on data management, digitalisation, and connected and intermodal mobility.

With this focus on innovation, the BolognaFiere exhibition centre once again proves to be the perfect setting to host leading players and stakeholders from all over the world, making the entire city and the Emilia-Romagna region a hub of global interest and attraction.

In addition, therefore, to the economic benefits that an event of this scale brings to the metropolitan economy, the next edition of Autopromotec aims to highlight potential solutions capable of implementing efficient mobility that positively impacts the lives of all citizens.
