Autopromotec renews its focus on Industrial Vehicle Service

Editorial Staff

The initiative for heavy vehicles represents an important part of the 2017 Bologna trade show, in a segment that is becoming increasingly strategic and competitive. A guide and exhibition space dedicated to the sector will facilitate the visit of the operators concerned.
The organisers of Autopromotec, the biennial exhibition of automotive equipment and aftermarket products, announced that, for the 27th edition of the event to be held in Bologna on 24-28 May 2017, the Industrial Vehicle Service initiative will be renewed, focusing on the world of service for heavy vehicles.

Industrial Vehicle Service offers exhibition space dedicated to trucks, with a guide for companies operating in the road transport and maintenance segment and with a special logo to identify exhibitors of truck equipment, components and spare parts. All exhibitors participating in the initiative - over 950, including more than 300 from abroad - are included in the guide that will be distributed to professionals during the days of the event.

Industrial Vehicle Service 2017 will highlight all the innovative technologies that can prove decisive in curbing operation costs and carbon emissions, as required by laws increasingly focused on protecting the environment. Visitors will also have the chance to experience first-hand the latest equipment, components and spare parts developed for the world of heavy trucks and offered by major companies in the sector. Particular emphasis will be given to maintenance and services that help optimise fleet management.

There is growing interest in an increasingly competitive and fundamental sector for trade exchanges on the European continent like road transportation, part of a logistics chain that includes several modes of transport, forming an integrated system. For a wide range of freight, light commercial vehicles, trucks and tractor-trailers provide flexibility, cost-effectiveness, efficiency and versatility of solutions that still today remain difficult to beat. E-commerce, truck platooning, digitisation and the contribution of ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) to reduce CO2 emissions and increase the safety levels of industrial vehicles are just a few of the themes that characterise current industry developments, called to face increasingly intricate technological and regulatory challenges, while working to increase the efficiency of freight logistics.

AutopromotecEDU will delve into these current issues through conferences and round tables. With the Industrial Vehicle Service initiative, Autopromotec proves again to be a forerunner of future trends in the field of service and repair, representing one of the most important and indispensable global showcases of new technologies used to optimize the costs of vehicle repair and use. Not to mention the strategic importance of these issues in the relaunching of the Italian system, which Autopromotec has always worked to promote.

AutopromotecEDU will therefore offer visitors the opportunity to attend a series of conferences dedicated to the transport sector, featuring major players in the market. In addition to the previously announced round table on the circular economy, devoted to tires (Friday, 26 May at 3:30 pm), at the conference organised by ANFIA-Aftermarket (section dedicated to automotive spare parts by ANFIA - Associazione Nazionale Filiera Industria Automobilistica), the spotlight will focus on the distribution of spare parts in the truck market, with particular attention to the evolution of distribution and the future of the industry, especially in light of the latest innovations related to self-driving (Thursday, 25 May at 9:00 am). Also on the AutopromotecEDU calendar is Federmetano - the national federation of distributors and transporters of natural gas -, which will make two different presentations. The first (Friday, 26 May at 10:00 am) will analyse the development of the distribution network of methane for trucks in liquid (LNG) and compressed (CNG) forms, including insights on policies for heavy transport and the use of this fuel in logistics fleets. The second (Saturday, 27 May at 10:00 am) will focus on the issue of methane and LPG transformations in the aftermarket, with reference to new technologies like the installation of the Dual Fuel System on light and heavy vehicles, incentives and requalification of CNG-4 tanks.
